OJ Scales // web design & build

Built different.
Ridiculous
websites.

A web design and build studio working with ambitious businesses worldwide. Every reply in your inbox comes from whoever actually builds your site — no account-manager relay, nothing lost in translation on the way from the pitch to the code. Two of the real builds are embedded further down this page, live and scrollable, because a screenshot proves nothing.

01 // who you are actually talking to

A small studio.
One standard:
genuinely unreasonable.

OJ Scales builds websites for ambitious businesses worldwide — estate agents who want one property to have its own site, independent shops who want a storefront that does not look like a template, and operators whose work is better than their website. A website does not care which country you trade from, and neither do we.

Whoever replies to your email is whoever builds your site — design, code, animation, hosting. There is no account-management layer to pass through, which is the point: nothing gets lost in translation between the person who promised it and the person who builds it.

  • Hand-written, not assembled. No page builder, no bought theme, no drag-and-drop. The builds on this page are HTML, CSS and JavaScript written line by line — including the shader on the laptop screen above.
  • Built first, pitched second. On the estate-agent line the site exists before the first email goes out. There is nothing to imagine, because it is already running.
  • Every claim on this page is checkable. No logos, no testimonials, no invented statistics. Where the honest answer is “nobody has paid yet,” that is what it says, in the same size type as everything else.

Figures are replaced when they change, never added to. If the “0” above is out of date, it is because somebody paid and this line will say so.

02 // live work

Two real builds.
Still running. Scroll them yourself.

Both frames below are the actual live websites, loaded from their own URLs inside these device shells — not screenshots and not video. Click into either one and it scrolls, animates and reacts exactly as it does for a real visitor.

Listing page · mobile

One property, its own entire website

A Grade II listed country house listing, built as a single-property site from the agent's own photography — room-by-room, scroll-driven, no video required. Finished 17 October 2026 and now the standing template for every build on this line.

The listing page build as it appears on a phone.
Live · HTTP 200 Agency branding replaced with a placeholder — this build is still a private, unanswered offer, so the real name is not mine to print.
Shopify storefront · desktop

“KALEIDO” — a storefront with a shader for a hero

A full storefront concept: the hero is a hand-written GLSL program resampling the photograph per pixel — refraction, chromatic aberration and iridescence that track your cursor. No WebGL library, no plugin. The brand is invented and nothing on it is for sale.

03 // measured, not claimed

Three numbers.
All three checkable in about two minutes.

There are no client logos on this page and no testimonials anywhere on it. Those are the easiest things in the world to invent, which is exactly why they are missing. These four are what is left when you throw out everything that cannot be verified from outside.

0 Builds live right now Every one curled on 17 Oct 2026. 43 of 43 returned HTTP 200. Nothing offline, nothing broken.
0 Templates or page builders used Every build is hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript — verifiable in the page source, no WordPress, no Wix, no bought theme.
0 Storefront showcases KALEIDO and MONOLOOM — both built end to end, both deployed, both answering today.

No client logos, no testimonials, no star ratings. Every one of those 43 live builds is either a private offer still in play or a showcase built to set the standard, which is exactly why there is not a single company name or logo anywhere above — naming someone who has not agreed to anything would break the promise we make every client. The work speaks before anything else does.

A studio that opens every pitch with the finished build, not a proposal, does not need a quote in a box with a stranger's face next to it — we let the two live builds above argue the case instead, because they are harder to fake than a testimonial.

What you can do instead: scroll the two builds above, open them full size, run them on your own phone, and check the TLS certificate on any .previews.ojscales.com address. The work is the argument, and it is a strong one.

04 // the mechanism

How a build actually happens

Four steps. No discovery call, no proposal deck, no onboarding portal, no twelve-week process.

01

You send us the raw material

Photos, listing details, product shots, whatever already exists. No brief document, no questionnaire, no mood board exercise. If you have a logo, send it; if you do not, that is fine too.

02

We build the whole thing

Design and code in one pass, hand-written, end to end. The animation is designed against your actual content rather than dropped on top of a template afterwards.

03

You get a real URL, not a mockup

It goes up on real hosting over HTTPS and you open it on your own phone. No screenshots to approve, no PDF of what it might look like. If it is not right, you say so and we change it.

04

It moves to your domain

Two DNS records at your registrar, which takes about five minutes and which you can do yourself. We never need your website password. The files are yours outright afterwards.

05 // selected builds

Three of the forty-three

Listed by what they are rather than who they belong to. The listing page is a private offer that has not been answered yet, and the two storefronts are invented brands built to show the standard — so there is no real company name to print on any of the three.

Listing page A single-property listing site shown on a phone.

Grade II listed country house

One property, its own site. Room-by-room photo sequence driven by scroll, built from the agent's own photography with the walkthrough video demoted to an optional final card. Finished 17 October 2026.

Storefront The KALEIDO storefront build, range section.

KALEIDO — holographic eyewear

Hand-written GLSL refraction hero, a pinned horizontal range break, and a seven-layer lens cross-section that assembles itself as you scroll. Invented brand, real code.

Storefront The MONOLOOM storefront build.

MONOLOOM — single-loom clothing

A different shader on purpose: a cloth fold-field with surface normals, a raking sheen and a warp/weft interlace that creases where the fabric creases. Not the first one retinted.

06 // next

Send us what you have.
You will get a real URL back.

Whoever builds your site reads that inbox. Expect an actual reply, not an autoresponder and not a calendar link. Asking a question costs you nothing and does not put you on a list — there is no list.
